Clear aligners have changed how adults approach orthodontic treatment. Instead of fixed brackets and wires, you wear a series of custom-made, transparent trays that move your teeth gradually — and you can take them out to eat, brush, floss or attend a special event.
At Pure White, our orthodontist in Mirdif assesses every aligner case in detail before treatment begins. Aligners are an excellent option for many adults — but they aren’t suitable for everyone. The right answer depends on your case, your discipline with wearing them, and what you want from treatment.
Clear aligners are thin, custom-made plastic trays that fit snugly over your teeth. Each set is slightly different from the last, applying gentle, targeted pressure to move teeth toward their planned final position. You wear each set for 1–2 weeks before progressing to the next in your series.
The full treatment is planned digitally before you start — your orthodontist uses scans of your teeth to design every step of the movement, and you can often preview a digital projection of your final smile during the consultation.

Your case is planned digitally — every movement, every aligner stage, mapped before you start. You can usually preview a projection of the final result.
Your first set of aligners is fitted. The orthodontist may bond small tooth-coloured “attachments” to certain teeth to help the aligners grip and move them effectively.
Wear each set 20–22 hours per day. Remove only for eating, drinking anything other than water, and brushing. Switch to the next set every 1–2 weeks as directed.
In-person check-ups every 6–10 weeks to monitor progress and hand over the next batch of aligners.
Once teeth have reached their planned positions, a short refinement stage fine-tunes the result, and retainers are fitted to keep teeth in place.
Most clear aligner cases complete in 6 to 18 months. Mild cases can finish in under 6 months; more involved cases take longer. You’ll get a specific timeline with your treatment plan.
